Who is your favorite!?

The Real Inspector Hound  is a play within a play, if you have not figured that out yet... :) The play within the play is particularly bad. Just awful. However, there is a unique twist towards the end...and you end up questioning your characters. It's very similar to The Mousetrap - a famous play that people were sworn to secrecy upon seeing.

Therefore, the characters in this play are different than they normally would be...as they are actors playing actors (for the most part).

While you have been doing your character analysis - who has become your favorite character?

I played Felicity while I was in college - so she is naturally mine. I also like how she uses her body for humor. She is typically a buxom woman and is usually dressed in sexy clothes - and much of her humor comes from making fun of that. She was an exciting character to play.

  1. My favorite character was Mrs. Drudge because of the way she saw and heard everything without anyone really noticing her

    1. I liked her too. Maybe because when I think of how her character is portrayed in the play, I can see all the physical comedy that could be used by the actor that played her. Even though I am not much of an actor, I think it would be fun to play her.

    2. In a different situation like this play, it is good to lay low and just take in what is happening around you. Mrs. Drudge was a funny character.

  2. I enjoyed Birdboot cause he was an ass hole. I liked reading his remarks to people especially all the "Where's Higgs?"

    1. I don't usually like the assholes in plays or stories but Birdboot is pretty entertaining in this play.

    2. I enjoy some sarcastic in a play makes the play better for me if there is not just a room of happy go lucky people.

  3. So far my favorite character would have to be Birdboot. Although I typically strongly dislike douchebags, his doucheness is pretty entertaining and his replies and reactions to those around him keeps me interested in his character.

    2. He kind of reminded me of Foghorn Leghorn from the Looney Tunes with all the "Well I never..." I even imagine his voice sounding that way. Lol.

  4. My favorite character was Birdboot. He wasn't the nicest person by any means, but he was one of the characters that stuck out to me.

    1. He definitely has a unique personality, but I'm not a huge fan of him. The way he interacts is funny at points, but I don't like the fact that he is not faithful to his wife.

  5. I liked Birdboot as well. It seems to be the consensus on here that even though he was kind of an ass in the play, it helped to make for an interesting character, I would have to agree with that. If he wasn't so pompous I don't think the play wouldn't be as funny as it is.

  6. I really enjoy the character Mrs. Drudge. She is just the stereotypical middle aged woman who makes everyone else's business her priority which I find very funny in the story, but if it were happening to me in my life, I'm sure I would be much more annoyed by her.

  7. My favorite character was Cynthia. She was a strong person, but dumb. Also, she knew how to get what she wanted without looking cheap. Her husband just up and disappeared, she wants to be faithful but then doesn't want to spend the rest of her life alone.

  8. my favorite is Cynthia. I think she kind of has a plan and is just toying with Simon, this kind of gives you an idea to think about as you leave the play house.

    1. That is what I thought as she was conversing with Simon. She was like I am dedicated but then again I want to find someone it really made me wonder if she was not as dumb as she came off in my mind.

  9. I liked Magnus because of the twist at the end and he was out to prove that just because he was crippled did not mean that he was just going to sit around a let people walk all over him he was going to do the wheeling so to speak.

  10. Lets go with Birdboot if only because he gets so defensive about being around all those women was my favorite part of the book him acting all indigent about it plus he is a dirtbag sarcastic guy which is hilarious to me.

  11. I like Cynthia. She just seemed easy to get. She seemed a bit difficult to get along with but in the end she seemed kind of faithful or at least wanting to be a good person.
